Silence

Witansna Un lived together with her four brothers in a tipi on Earth. One day one of the brothers went out hunting. After a few days he had still not returned and so another brother went in search of him. He also did not return, and so the third brother went after them and eventually the fourth did the same. The young woman was left alone in the tipi to look after herself. She lived a lonely life then, although she learned to live with the silence her brothers had left.Imagine yourself in solitude for years. Used as you are to the impulses you ordinarily provide for yourself (music, TV, computer), you wouldn’t last long. You would be confronted with all the thoughts and feelings you normally try to numb with external impulses. It’s a good idea to retreat into silence for a morning or an evening and observe what happens within you. If you listen to yourself well you will discover new things about yourself: what your deepest desires are or what aspects of your life bother you the most.
